This epic route begins in the Axarquía region and immediately presents you with a choice of two challenging mountain passes. You can either tackle the dramatic Boquete de Zafarraya, the dramatic entrance to Málaga province from Granada, or take the beautiful and quiet Puerto del Sol climb.

Little civilization is encountered along the way, apart from the charming village of Villanueva de Algaidas and the focal point of Archidona itself. This isolation adds to the route’s appeal, offering a true escape into the heart of rural Andalucía.
The route features constant up and down terrain, with beautiful and peaceful surroundings that make every climb and descent worthwhile. The rolling hills provide excellent training opportunities while showcasing some of the most pristine countryside in the region.
