Best time to visit
Plan your cycling adventure during the optimal seasons for the best experience.
Girona enjoys a Mediterranean climate with mild winters and warm summers. The best time to visit for cycling is during spring (March - May) and autumn (September - November) when temperatures are pleasant and the weather is generally stable.
Summer can be hot and humid, especially in July and August, but the coastal breezes provide some relief. Early morning rides are recommended during the peak summer months.
Winter is mild and often sunny, making Girona an excellent winter cycling destination. The region rarely experiences extreme cold, and many professional cyclists choose to base themselves here during the off-season.
Routes

Els Àngels
One of the classics. Also known as the Hincapie Loop, and is a good one to start your cycling holidays in Girona.

Rocacorba
An uninspiring climb that leads nowhere was made famous by the pros in preparation of the grand tours.

Mare de Déu del Mont
If a mountain had mood swings, this would be the template. A tough climb that is rewarded by unobstructed views at the top, and a beautiful ride to and from Girona.
Sant Marti Sacalm
Overshadowed by the more popular Rocacorba, this climb is nicer.
